
Lucknow – The ‘mission rozgar’ of the Yogi government continued unabated despite the vagaries of Corona times and there had been no let up in providing employment to the youth even during the Corona period. The online ‘Rozgar Fairs’ organised by the state government proved to be a boon for the unemployed youth.
The Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development set a record of organising 44 online job fairs during the Corona period and provided employment to more than 10 thousand youth. This was the time when offline job fairs were suspended due to Corona but online fairs served the purpose.
The state government is working in mission mode to provide employment to the youth. The government has given government jobs to more than four lakh youth in four years, while connecting the youth with self-employment and making them self-reliant. In fact, the Vocational Education and Skill Development Department has provided employment to 26604 youth through 26 big offline job fairs between from 2017 to 2021. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also participated in one such fair in Gorakhpur in February 2020. In this, 5117 youth had received offer letters, while appointment letters were distributed to 5577 youth in the employment fair organised in Varanasi. At the same time, in the job fairs organised in Mahoba and Muzaffarnagar in 2020-21, the employment was provided to 500 and 3300 youths respectively.
Yogi government set record in skill development
Not only the Yogi government provided employment but trained the unemployed in skill development in order to enable them to gey employment according to their skill sets.
As per the statistics of the Department of Skill Development, only 3,71,380 youths were trained between 2013 and 17 during the previous government. Whereas the Yogi government provided skill training to a record 8,92,334 youth in four and a half years from 2017 to 2021. This was more than double than what done in the previous regime in Uttar Pradesh.
