Lucknow-Aimed to enhance the communication with the Uttar Pradesh Government, CM Yogi launched the ‘MyGovUP’ portal on Monday. With this innovative effort, now the citizens can share their opinion on the government’s policy and the government can receive their feedback on programmes of public interest.
Basically, https://up.mygov.in/ is a platform to disseminate the schemes of governance and to know the opinion of common citizens on them.
Speaking at the virtual event, CM Yogi said that democracy is a system of governance ‘of the people, for the people and by the people’. Prior to 2014, public participation in the government was negligible, there was no place for the feelings and thoughts of the common citizen. But in July 2014, within two months of the formation of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government, the platform ‘MyGov’ was launched.
The platform which was launched by the Prime Minister to realize the spirit of democracy through technology, today in seven years, has played a big role in achieving the goal of good governance.
Praising the team of MyGov, the CM said, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, we realized the use of technology that how together we can reach the benefits of the schemes of governance with complete transparency and honesty to crores of people.”
With the help of technology, over 80,000 e-posh machines have been installed in fair price shops and connected to the government’s portal. Today, more than 15 crore people are being given the benefit of the Public Distribution System. Foodgrains are being distributed to people in more quantity than before, which has saved up to ₹ 1,200 crores. Overall, through technology, schemes can be made credible and corruption can be stopped, he said.
While appreciating the good results of encouraging innovative ideas of youth, discussing policies, etc. through the MyGov platform, Yogi said that joining this platform of the Uttar Pradesh government is useful for the people of the state.
Union Minister of Communications and Electronics Ashwini Vaishnav said, “MyGov is a step towards Digital Democracy. In the last seven years, this platform has played an important role in making the views of the people the basis of the policies of the government.” Today the portal completes its seven years. On such a special occasion, the arrival of the country’s largest state, Uttar Pradesh, on this platform, will further expand its success.
MyGov CEO Abhishek Singh also gave a brief overview of MyGov’s journey of seven years and expressed his gratitude towards the Uttar Pradesh government for joining as the 15th state.
